Glasgow proves second to Naan - curry crown back in Glasgow

Glasgow is celebrating after being crowned Curry Capital of Britain for the fourth time. No other city has won the title more than once.

The city wowed the 13 judges with “an outstanding team effort” to win the 2010 competition. Glasgow has now outshone its rivals four times. It was also victorious in 2002, 2005 and 2006.

Lord Provost Bob Winter said: "I am delighted the title is coming back to Glasgow where it belongs. It's wonderful news. Our city's restaurants deserve national recognition and to win the curry capital competition a fourth time is testament to that. Winning the Curry Capital of Britain title this year is very much down to our four chosen ambassadors - Balbirs, Koolba, Mister Singh's India and Mother India Cafe. They do our city proud."
Bradford won second place in this year’s contest and Wolverhampton came in third.
