Battle of the Pies

The mutton pie has had strong traditional Scottish roots dating back to the 15th century, and has been a firm favourite ever since. But that may be all about to change after Mister Singh's Indian Restaurant has launched the Curry Pie.

Working with McGhees Bakery and Pars Food, Mister Singh's India have developed a pie that embraces two of Scotland's favourite dishes - pies and curry.

A host of celebrities turned out for the launch of the pie in Glasgow - Kenny Dalglish, Derek Johnstone, John Collins, Alan Rough and Billy McNeil were just a few of the sporting starts who came to eat pie and all seemed suitably impressed with the result.

The pie contains their most popular curry recipe - chicken ambala from the punjab region.

Satty Singh has run the popular Indian Restaurant for over 16 years in Glasgow with the help of his dad, Jit and his brother Bobby.
